Rachel Brosnahan is PredictIQ Quantitative Think Tank Centercelebrating the magical moments her late aunt Kate Spade brought to her life.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star penned a heartbreaking tribute to the fashion designer on the anniversary of her death.
"I've been thinking about Katy a lot lately because 10 years ago, when I was making my Broadway debut, she let me crash in their extra bedroom while I figured out my living situation," Rachel wrote in a June 5 post, alongside a photo of herself as a baby and Kate on the beach. "She included me in family dinners every night while we were in rehearsals and would keep extra food for me in the fridge for when I came home from tech and previews."
The 32-year-old noted the steadfast support the fashion mogul showed when it came to acting—all the way back to childhood plays.
"She would always ask about the play and came with bells on (and the most fabulous outfit) to our opening night," Rachel continued. "She told me she sobbed through the bows because she was proud. But I'm not alone in that experience. That was the magic of Katy."
"She loved so hard she was often moved to tears, and laughter that moved through her entire body and joy that radiated out her pores," Rachel added. "She spread stardust over everyone she came into contact with. I was lucky to be in her orbit."
The actress, who is currently starring in the play The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window concluded her note with a poignant reflection on the last several years, adding "It's strange to be in New York without her. It's strange to be back on stage without her. But also, she's still here."
The House of Cards actress has often paid tribute to Kate, who died by suicide in 2018. Months after the designer passed, Rachel became the face of her Frances Valentine label for its 2019 collection.
And she's spoken about her connection to Kate, sharing family photos, on social media. Shortly after Kate's death, Rachel shared a video of her dancing alongside a heartbreaking message.
"She had a light that words can't capture but touched everyone she came into contact with," she noted. "She was exceedingly kind, beautifully sensitive, insanely talented, funny as heck and one of the most generous people I have ever known. She was effervescent. Hug your loved ones extra tight today."
